SV4Obama Newsletter

In the summer of 2008, Silicon Valley for Obama was one of the largest local arms of the Obama campaign. They needed better ways to engage with their volunteers, so I was tasked with converting the occasional plain-text email blasts into an engaging, daily email.

Though I’d never designed for email clients, I designed and coded a HTML email template that could be sent out. Additionally, I actually served as editor as well, collecting news, stats and calls-to-action from the SV4Obama staff and turning into a newsletter than was sent out each day, from July to Election day.

Subscribers grew from less than 2,000 to 10,000 by November. And Obama won, so there’s that.
