Zimride is a marketplace for people to buy and sell rides with people traveling in the same direction. One of the most natural occasions for ridesharing is to and from events, both large and small.

When I arrived at Zimride, the team had already built a bare-bones events feature. It lacked most expected functionality, including the ability to even view all rides to a particular event.

I took up the project, and we redesigned and rebuilt the events feature from scratch. We split off myself, two developers and one designer into a separate team, building the minimum viable product within a matter of weeks. The events feature saw huge usage from the start, with more than 1,000 rides posted to Coachella, the first event we offered on the new framework.
